Planting and Watering the Word - 1 Corinthians 3
Today’s chapter is about God giving the increase for the times we plant and water the seed of the Word of God in people’s lives. The success of The Work of God completely depends upon Him bringing life to those who don’t know Him. God uses all of us in this process and none of us are more important than the other. Our spiritual growth comes from reading, hearing, and studying the scriptures and then learning to apply them daily. Paul refers to the word carnal Christian meaning babes or mature believers that are stuck, and not growing in grace and maturity. We all start that way and we also can see if we’re maturing based on how we react to conflict temptations and adversity.
The good news is if we stay open to the Lord working in our hearts even in times of immaturity He will begin to change how we respond in life and grow us in our faith to become different people. Actually being humble teachable and knowing everything concerning Christ’s likeness in our lives only comes from God, none of us can take credit.
