Luke 9:23-26 – True Discipleship

In today’s world, we meet many people who identify themselves as Christians or followers of Jesus Christ, but in this environment – where many believe that salvation exempts them from suffering – it’s important that we know what it means to be a true disciple. In this passage of scripture, Jesus lays out for those listeners, and for us, what it means to be His disciple. We must do what He will do: deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow Him. We must be prepared to surrender our will, affections, desires and life to Him as He surrendered to the Father.
